CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICERS LOG, Recording ON
I have arrived aboard the Alliance in advance of most of the crew. My quarters are adequate for my needs. The ship's sickbay is pristine and well equipped. I have begun reviewing the roster and will require medical workups on all crew. Standing order to report to Sickbay within 24 hours of boarding is to be in effect effective immediately.

Begin recording Duty Log, Lt. Commander T'Lura
I am conducting a detailed tour of the Alliance to in order to be better able to serve effectively on the ship. In a time of medical emergency it behooves one to commit the locations of critical areas to memory and to have a thorough familiarity with her in general.
I have found it fascinating that the dome on the top of the ship atypically does not house the Alliance's bridge but instead is the location of Main Science.
On the Alliance the ship's bridge is located deep within the ship and heavily shielded. A wise precaution considering the ship's designation as a Battleship, which is in itself a deviation from Starfleet's norm.
The facilities for personal exercise on this ship are disappointingly lacking, I will be extra vigilant to ensure that crewmembers find time to fit in adequate workouts.
I have encountered only a few crew members in my perambulations, I expect this will change drastically in the next 24 hours so I will need to complete my tour before then.

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICERS LOG, Recording ON
Thus far 92 junior officers and crew reported to sickbay for their fitness for duty physicals. No one has been found lacking or possessed of any disease or defect that would prevent them from serving on the Alliance.
Lt. Commander Moonshadows to Ennien, a Sivaoan, informed me that her Estrus suppression shot is due to be administered and I advised her to present herself to sickbay for same. As of this time I have not seen Lt. Commander Moonshadows to Ennien nor have any of the senior staff or Command crew come to sickbay to take care of their physical examinations.
It seems that I may need to employ a more forceful tone in my next exhortation. This is an order, not a request. Everyone boarding the ship MUST pass their fitness for duty check up or I will insist they step down until such time as they do so.

Once the injured had been treated and stabilized the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Alliance couldn't help but overhear the murmurs of the other doctors, nurses and medical personnel.
Why would the CMO leave them on their own for so long when it became obvious that injuries were likely to result from the pirate attack and furthermore, why would the CMO leave Sickbay when she knew that critical cases would be shunted their way? Dr. Pierce would never have done such a thing!
T'Lura found their concerns quite telling, apparently her predecessor had been held in high regard by her staff. No doubt it would take some time for them to become comfortable with her as a replacement. Even though their whispered ruminations seemed to serve to cast doubt on her efficacy as a CMO, she did not feel any need to address the scuttlebutt.
She personally reviewed each case that had come through Sickbay during the crisis and found that they had lost no lives and full recoveries were expected for all the injured.
Indeed, the only aspect of today's events that mattered to her was that the Sickbay staff had performed well on their shakedown cruise.

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICERS PERSONAL LOG, Recording ON
Captain and Bridge crew facing pirates in a situation requiring force carried out their mission in the least destructive manner possible. Backup was promptly called for to assist. Safe removal of the injured aboard freighter to the Alliance was given highest priority.
Presence of pirates in shipping lanes so near to Starbase 11 could be used as a prime example of why Starfleet feels the implicit “threat” of these dreadnoughts patrolling our border is a necessity.
My observations continue.

Chief Medical Officers Log, Recording ON
Despite my admonitions of removal from duty for non-compliance, several of the senior staff, Captain Dallas included have failed to report for their standard fitness for duty physicals. Though I have no doubt that the Captain and his Command Crew are in robust health, they must not shirk this requirement.
Therefore, I am sending a second request to the crew ordering any who have not done so to report to Sickbay at their earliest convenience. If they do not comply, I may be forced to bring the medical testing to them at their positions on the Bridge.
Also, the he injured freighter crew members are recovering as well as can be expected in the Alliance's sickbay. No unforeseen complications have taken place.
