Reporting into his new post was not easy moving around the base with all the people. Being a desk man up till this point he was looking forward to getting back into the action. He gladly took this assignment and the rank reduction just to get back on the move. The desk life was not for him and besides he was nearly 50 years old, a young man in his mind, had plenty of time to get back to a desk when he got older.
Looking around his office he got the layout pretty well before he heard a beep. Already there was a message waiting for him. He had to chuckle for somethings never change regardless of position and movement. Going directly to the desk he opened the text file. It read from the station command officer to him. Reading the file quickly he got the general idea of it and sent him back a reply.
To: Captain Cyrano Station Commander
From: Commander Alex Station Operation's Officer
Hello Captain,
I got your message and would be more then happy to meet you. Let's say the Commissary around dinner time so we can eat together and meet about the station. I just got in so if the message is a bit rushed its because I'm still absorbing all that is around me. Takes a while to get off the bureaucracy to be back among st those who do the work. I'll adjust rapidly I assure you good Captain but forgive my muddling around in the meantime. Let me know if the dinner will work for you and I look forward to meeting with you real soon.
Regards,
Commander Alex Your neighborhood Bolian

Cyrano was happy to see the Operations Chief return his message promtly. He sat down and answered it right away.
Commander Alex.
Thank you for the quick response. I will be needing your help to get the klingons settled in. Unfrotunately, many of the shopkeeps and Restauranteurs have not yet arrived.
Oh, and please it isn't Captain. I'm a civilian administrator. Starfleet will be sending a base commander. until then, as Operations Chief, you're in charge of all Starfleet goings on.
As of now, The USS Polaris is putting in for repairs. The USS Ressurection will be arring before long as well.
Dinner will be fine in the commisary. I have a stash of non replicated alcohol, so name your poison.
Cyrano Jones.

Mr. Jones
Some brandy would do this old goat some good. Being stuck behind a desk so long makes old habbits die hard. I'm use to calling the people above me a higher rank then myself. I'm glad to see that Starlfeet is working with the civilian core on this matter as it is a great importance to us to keep up trade and good relations between our allies and ourself.
I'll keep in mind to keep the reports up for Starfleet till a station commander is assigned here. I'm sure you will do the same on your end. The Klingons will be taken care of real well having served as an exchange officer on one of their battle crusers in my time I can pretty much do that in my sleep. I'll cordinate the approperate staff.
USS Polaris and USS Ressurection will be greeted approperately and be assigned quarters for crew if they so desire it. Repair crews have been alerted of the type of vessle and repair list possibilities and are on standby. Dock crews on standby and docking assignments have been prearragend for both ships. We'll talk more at dinner till then rest assured station operations are in good hands.

Sompek saw the station begin to take shape in the tIQ'leth's viewscreen, and for a moment his enthusiasm waned. His father had cautioned him that it was not a Klingon base, and he should not expect the stirring of his blood that Klingon aesthetics brought about. Still, it was a challenge. He understood why his father had recommended that he and his crew reside and sleep on the ship. It would be better for their spirit. "Understand the humans," Kapact had said. "Work with them, respect their achievements and respect their unique but undeniable sense of honor, but live like a warrior." Sompek held on to those words as the massive Ab'Qaff Class Command Carrier approached the base known to them only as Central Point. He tapped the comm panel and waited for the station to acknowledge. "Central Point, this is Sompek, son of Kapact, requesting permission to dock."

Captain Sompek examined the data transmitted from the base. Sompek had never known conflict with humans, and he had a grudging respect for their achievements and their unique sense of honor. But still, he could understand the stories that his father told him. There was something blatant about them. Bright and shiny, proudly proclaiming their identity, opening their doors to one and all. It seemed to work for them, but he knew it would never work for the Empire. The brief experiment the Empire had attempted in democracy, now known as the dark ages, had confirmed that Klingons on a basic level would never tolerate democracy. They might ally themselves with one, but never more than that. He was looking forward to the holo-field combat exercises. "This is the Captain," he spoke into the intercom. "Prepare for docking. All personnel will remain on ship, in quarters unless ordered otherwise. Cleric taHGor, report to the main transporter. We will meet with the station commander as soon as possible." Sompek

A message came from Centeral Point Operations having monitored some of the internal chatter of the ship.
This is Centeral Point Operations. Current station commander can be found in the Commisiary/Replomate area of the base. His location has been ploted on the map provided for you. Cheif of base Operations is also with him. Both have been notified of your presence and your crew is more then welcome to exsplore the base in the mean time.
The automated message then cut out to leave the ship in silince once more.

USS Resolute Sovereign Class Admiral Allyna Nechayev
Admiral Nechayev glanced at the massive Ab'Qaff Class Carrier tIQ'etlh docked at Central Point Station and thought that General Kapact would be proud of his son Sompek. Then she saw the Workbees and Klingon Targ construction craft buzzing around a circular device 75,000 kilometers off the station. That was the holo-field designed and initially tested in Kapact's Ab'Qaff Shipyard. She knew that Kapact had participated in that first test that had lasted for a month. Now Sompek would be taking on real Federation crews inside of the first operational version. Federation troops commanded by her.
She tapped the command comm panel. "Central Point station, this is Admiral Nechayev on the Resolute, requesting permission to dock."

He was in his office so he took the call.
This is centeral point station. Dockmaster is currently not in his office, so I'll be clearing you for docking. All papers check, orders have been received. Lower deck A is ready for your arrival. Any additional information requests please make them now. Centeral Point on stand by.
He then cut the comm on his end to see if they would respond back. Vocal communication only because there was no request for visuals, yet.

He got a message from the manager of the station and noded at that. Only confirmed what he spoke to the Admerial about and it was good to hear that he was on top of things. He was feeling the office walls close in on him after a while and then that is when he knew that he needed to get some rest. Tomrrow was a new day and he was going to be full of it to greet it. Leaving his office he went to waunder about his new post, make friends, and find sleep.

After a few days of being a single man again he found his way back to his office. The hub was lighting up with activity as there had been a couple of reassignments as well as perminate ships being stationed on the base. He knew that the Admiral was going to have his hands full as the provisioner's dream of this station becoming a cultural hub was coming true. Unfortunately this also meant that he was going to have his hands full too and that he was going to have to brace himself for more work then he could ever dream possible.
Computer open operations functions and begin briefing on complete list of duties.
That was his only command as the next few hours the computer walked him through every operations function on the station and who all was going to be in charge of what civilian or otherwise.
